Takht Sri Keshgarh Sahib
ਤਖ਼ਤ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕੇਸਗੜ੍ਹ ਸਾਹਿਬ
Sri Anandpur Sahib, Punjab1699 CE by Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji
Crowned upon a hilltop fortress in the holy city of Anandpur Sahib, this Takht marks the sanctified ground where the Khalsa Panth was birthed on Vaisakhi 1699.
Sacred History & Panthic Significance
- On Vaisakhi day 1699, Tenth Patshah Guru Gobind Singh Ji called for five heads for righteousness. The Panj Pyare (Five Beloved Ones) rose forward, transcending caste and fear.
- The Guru initiated them with Khande Di Pahul (nectar churned with a double-edged sword), creating the sovereign Saint-Soldier fraternity, the Khalsa Panth.
- Guru Gobind Singh Ji then kneeled before the Panj Pyare and requested initiation himself, inaugurating supreme spiritual democracy: “Waho Waho Gobind Singh Aape Gur Chela”.
- Preserves sacred historical relics, including the original double-edged Khanda used by Guru Gobind Singh Ji to prepare the first Amrit, alongside his arrows, shields, and firearms.
